While AutoCad has certainly become the industry standard when it comes to the preliminary designs for a home or buildings duct work, electrical needs, spacial design, load bearing walls and so on, there are other options for someone who wants to study electrical cad design.

Most CAD programs require you to have extensive training in order to learn all of the ins and outs of the program.

As such, you cannot expect to simply open up one of these programs and use them like you would an MS Office program or a desktop publishing program. If you want ease of use then you might try something like Microsoft's Visio. You do need to understand that this program will not have the extensive abilities that other CAD programs will have to offer.

They will bring finished results for you to see, the manual and demonstrate the program in use. You are not obligated to make a purchase, although you can expect some sales pressure as it is their job to get you ot make a purchase, but you can simply say no and purchase the program that you want from the source that you want.
